HOLLYSHORTS ANNOUNCES DATES AND VENUE FOR 2ND ANNUAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL IN HOLLYWOOD

Best and Brightest Short Films From Around the Globe, Insightful Panels and Special Musical Performances To Take Place At Cinespace in Hollywood August 11-13, 2006

HOLLYWOOD, CA January 24, 2006----The organizers of HollyShorts, Short Film Festival announced today that the 2nd annual event will take place at the world renowned Cinespace: Digital Super Club and Lounge in Hollywood, August 11-13, 2006. The announcement was made by Daniel Sol, Producer and Co-Founder of HollyShorts, Short Film Festival.

"Cinespace is the perfect fit for our 2nd annual event and we look forward to once again showcasing the best and brightest short films from around the globe August 11-13," said Sol in making the announcement. "On the heels of the success of our inaugural event last August, we are eager to continue celebrating true, independent short films."

The 2006 HollyShorts Short Film Festival will showcase short films 30 minutes or less, thought provoking panels and music performances. Last year’s event showcased 23 short films from Poland, Thailand, Canada, India and the US, drawing standing room crowds at each of the screenings.

Samsung Electronics today announced the opening of a new web site "AnyFilms.net" offering a series of unique short films for mobile and internet users.The site features a short film series which can be viewed online as well as downloaded to certain Samsung mobile phones that support video playback. The films are composed of two stories directed by young, ambitious Hollywood film directors. The executive producer of the films is Jon Kilik, whose film "Broken Flowers" recently won the Grand Prix at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. "Across the Hall", directed by Alex Merkin, is a two-part story about a man trying to prevent his friend from doing something rash with his fiance, who he believes is cheating on him. "GiGi", directed by Mark Dippe, is about a sheepish guy who improves his social skills through the aid of a mysterious phone with an alluring female voice.
